Fund GuidelinesELIGIBILITY 1. Must be a high school senior who is going to pursue further education and has applied to and plans to attend an institute of learning. 2. Must meet one of the following criteria: a. A child or grandchild of a Jefferson Ruritan member and provide the name of the member, b. Reside in the Jefferson Postal District, zip code 21755, c. A member of Random Acts of Kindness Club that has volunteered 75 hours or more at the Jefferson Ruritan Club and can provide documentation. PROCEDURES 1. The Ruritan Club will notify students regarding the requirements of the scholarship program by February 1st, via the local newspapers. Students will be requested to turn in all applications for the scholorship by March 1st. 2. Each applicant will provide recommendations, necessary scholastic records from their high school's guidance office or principal, and their completed application. Members of the Random Acts of Kindness Club will provide documentatin supporting the number of hours volunteered at the Jefferson Ruritan Club. 3. The Trustees of the Scholarship Fund will evaluate the applications and select the recipient(s). 4. Letters detailing the award(s) will be made out to the recipient(s) and delivered to the high school guidance offices and/or principals, requesting presentation at Senior Assembly. 5. Checks will be made out to the recipient(s). 6. The Trustees of the Scholarship Fund will invite the recipient(s) of the award(s) and their parents to be guests of the Ruritan Club at the July dinner meeting for presentation of the scholarship(s).
