Who: The Jefferson Ruritan Club of Jefferson, Maryland is sponsoring:

What: Jefferson Craft Show and Springfest

Where: Jefferson Ruritan Center, Jefferson, Maryland (US 340 west of Frederick at Lander Road)

When: June 3 -4, 2006 (10 am to 5 pm)

Benefit: Net proceeds will be provided to the Jefferson Food Bank

Special Musical Attractions to include Bands featuring Performers from Frederick County

Main Attractions include:

CRAFTS:

A juried craft show will be held at the Ruritan Center on Saturday and Sunday, from 10 am to 5 pm each day. There will be many artists and craftsmen from Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, and several of them will be demonstrating their crafts. Zimm’s Bears will be making a reappearance with a limited edition of the Jefferson Bear. There will be many other fine arts and crafts available, including stained glass, pottery, fabric crafts, country folk art, wood crafts, painting, chair caning, and much more. 5K RUN:

On Saturday morning registration will begin at 8 am with the run schedule to start at 9 am for the 5th Annual Springfest Run with a simultaneous 1 mile run from the elementary school featuring the children from Valley Elementary School. HORSESHOE PITCHING CONTEST:

A horseshoe pitching contest will take place on the afternoon of Saturday June 3^rd. Teams will be selected at random with prizes for the winners.

CAR/TRUCK/TRACTOR SHOW:

A Car Show will be held on Sunday featuring classics, antiques, hot rods and more. Call (301) 473-5095 for more information and pre-registration forms. Registration will start at 11:30 am Sunday morning.

KIDS EVENT:

A “Kiddy Pull” will be held on Saturday at approximately 10:00 am. The Kiddy Pull is a children’s pedal tractor with a weighted drag, similar to the big tractor pull gear. Limited to elementary school children. Face painting and other children’s entertainment and events are planned for both days.

FEATURE ENTERTAINMENT:

On Saturday from 2 to 5 pm country music will be performed by Frederick county’s own “Country Plus” band. On Sunday from 1 – 2 pm the Skip Wizards will make their 6^th appearance followed by another Frederick County favorite “Four of a Kind” from 2 to 5 pm.

FOOD:

Lunch platters and sandwiches will be served daily. Breakfast foods will be available for early birds.
