RE:  MD 180 (Jefferson Pike) Streetscape from US 340 to Holter Road

Dear Mr. Carpenter:

The MD 180 project was submitted for design funding in the spring of 2002.  We are pleased to inform you that the project has passed the first phase of this process and has been included in the Draft Consolidated Transportation Program (CTP), to be sent to the State Legislature.  Funding is currently planned for FY2004.

In the next phase of this process, the Legislature will review each project in the draft CTP and decide if it should receive the requested funding and be included in the final CTP.  In the last phase of the process, the final CTP will be formally approved by the Legislature.  This approval should happen in the spring of 2003.  If the Legislature chooses to include the MD 180 project in the final CTP, design would begin in the summer of 2003 which marks the beginning of FY2004.

Once the final CTP has been approved by the Legislature, we will contact you and the Task Force to let you know if the MD 180 project was included.  If you have any questions, please contact Mr. David Phillips, Project Engineer, at (410)545-8823 or 1-888-841-7493.
